Integration Coach (training)

I'm an educator, consultant and
reflex integration practitioner (in
training) who loves helping children
overcome their learning
challenges.

About Me.

In 1995, my journey into assisting children with fine and gross motor skills
commenced alongside occupational therapists. Together, we evaluated and
aided children with physical disabilities to prepare them for school. I was
captivated by the intricate relationship between motor skills and the
readiness to manipulate tools. With guidance from these therapists, I began
incorporating similar principles into my interactions with children.

Over the years, these methods consistently yielded positive outcomes
whenever children sought my help. When faced with challenges in my own
children's handwriting, I sought solutions through The Foundations for
Writing programme by Munira Adenwella, and put my child through an
assessment with Maz Gulamhusein MBABO, a Behavioural Optometrist &
vision therapy sessions.

This experience gave me insights into additional factors affecting
handwriting and attention challenges. Eager to deepen my expertise, I am
now pursuing certification in Reflex Integration Through Play with Kokeb
McDonald. This undertaking will enrich my education programmes and
strengthen my ability to support children with motor skills and
developmental hurdles.

Learning English as
a second language.

Unlocking Expressive Language in Bilinguals

During my first degree in English Language and Education Studies, I focused
my dissertation on a key question: How do we activate expressive language
in bilinguals?

Native speakers effortlessly use fluent, dynamic speech filled with inflection
—tone, pitch, volume, and pace—to convey emotion, persuade, and
engage. Beyond this, they draw from a rich linguistic toolkit, including
grammar, coherence, and various language devices.

The process of transforming passive language knowledge into active,
expressive communication is truly fascinating. My mission as a language
coach is to help each student unlock these elements within themselves,
guiding them toward confident, effective language use.

Method:
Identifying
patterns.

Teaching children is about seeing patterns.
Patterns that help them succeed; patterns that
create obstacles to learning.

Un-learning
and re-
learning.

Unlearning habits and building new ones requires
repetition to create new pathways in the brain.

Layering
new
learning.

After creating new pathways in the brain, you will
be better prepared to learn new skills, build
endurance, and expand your skills and
knowledge set.

What parents say

“After just 5 weeks with Chantelle his handwriting has improved, he seems less stressed at the thought of writing and he has learned how to break his work down into smaller chunks and how to picture (literally) what he is writing about”.

(2017)

“For the first time, my child who is 11, can read his handwriting.“ (May 2024)

Reflex Integration

What parents say

Today was my son's fifth Reflex Integration therapy session with Chantelle, and we have already noticed a huge difference, he has made a lot of progress since then! We are very happy and grateful, I highly recommend her, she is a great professional. January 2025.

Testimonials: ESL

Jae-Roc Yim

“As an education consultant and experienced EFL teacher myself, I introduced Chantelle to a mother of an 11-year-old girl from a country where English is taught as a foreign language. For the first a few lessons, I received Chantelle's feedback on her lessons with the girl and was impressed with her passion for teaching combined with professionalism represented by her knowledge of English language, the materials used and on-line platform Google Classroom to name a few. She was so experienced that she easily found out the child's specific needs in terms of her English language skills and knowledgeable that which materials she can use to resolve those issues....” (May, 2023)

“My main motivation for finding a tutor who could provide individualise support, address
specific learning needs and help my child to grasp difficult concepts more effectively.
You have done your best for my child and the progress is dependent on his own
efforts.” (Jan 2024)

J, aged 13, started 10 months ago, is now learning to write persuasive essays, and
practising writing complex sentences.

“I am more than happy to recommend Chantelle as a tutor. Chantelle shows a genuine
interest in encouraging and bringing the best out of my son with the time she spends
with him. She has an array of material at hand to stretch his imagination and encourage
creative thought processes which in turn enable him to appreciate reading and writing
is more than just something required of him in the education system.

A sufficient amount of time has not yet passed to be able to see how much my son has
progressed but I have no doubt his reading skills and creativity are improving, which will
also enhance his confidence.” (2012)

P.S He got into university! (2020)

“My daughter was not very confident when she first went to a British school. Chantelle
has worked hard to build her confidence and is genuinely interested in helping her with
not only her English learning but also her other challenges. My daughter is slowly
gaining confidence and I can see she is able to construct better sentences, and
reading levels have improved.” (Jan 2024)

“We’ve been working with Chantelle for a couple of months and I can’t thank Chantelle
enough for the confidence she has given B!! She can now have the confidence to give
reading a go, she read a whole book the other night! Chantelle is adaptable to the child
needs, she saw that B had traits of dyslexia and then adapted B’s lessons to suit her
needs.” (July 2021)
